This fun art process project for kids is so easy to set up and leads to sensory fun! The end results are always unique and beautiful.

To keep with the Valentine theme, we cut our shaving cream prints into hearts. You can cut different sizes and use them to make Valentine cards, notes, or garlands to decorate the home with sweet Valentine decor!

Valentine Day Shaving Cream Heart Art – Materials:

– Shallow container
Foam shaving cream
– Paint (we used a combination of red and pink washable tempera paints)
– Skewer
Watercolor paper
– Scissors

You’ll also need a heart template (you can search for “heart template” online) and just trace one out to use as a template, which is what we did.

It also helps to have butcher paper or something to cover your table as this art project can get messy!

Instructions:

Step 1. Line your workspace or table with butcher paper, newspaper, or something that is disposable.

Step 2. Add shaving cream to your shallow pan.

Step 3. Add paint and use your skewer to swirl around.

Step 4. Place your paper down the shaving cream with paint, remove, and then use another piece of cut paper to wipe off the excess shaving cream. Repeat with more paper, add more paint if needed.

TIP: to get more marbled effects use less paint on the shaving cream. We just created this again to show you how if you watch the video and see these updated photos below!

Another tip is to cut the heart shape first like below. Do it anyway that is easier for you!

Step 6. Use a heart template (you can search “heart template online,” print out and use as a template) to trace around your prints and then cut into hearts.
