President’s list

The Titusville Area Trails Association (TATA) will be holding a National Trails Day event on Saturday, June 1, from 9 a.m. to noon, on the Queen City Trail in Titusville.

The Franklin High School Instrumental Music Department will be presenting the 29th Annual FHS Jazz Festival at 7 p.m. on May 21 in the school’s auditorium. The program, which is free and open to the public, will showcase both the Franklin High School Stage Band and the Junior High Jazz Band.

Cook Forest State Park will conduct an entry level American Canoe Association (ACA) kayaking course for kayak enthusiasts from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 27-28. Subjects such as equipment, loading and unloading, rescues and strokes will be covered.

Summer park and parade assembly requests have begun to appear before Franklin City Council as the weather warms up, and council approved five requests at its meeting this week.

Members of the Franklin Water Department and Franklin Fire Department will flush fire hydrants next week in the Franklin and Rocky Grove areas starting Monday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.
