These Are The Richest #SelfMadeWomen Under 40 Building a fortune doesn’t have to take a lifetime. The youngest members on Forbes’ 2024 list of America’s Richest Self-Made Women are proof of that. Among the 100 list members, 11 are under the age of 40. While this number has coincidentally stayed the same over the past years, some of its faces have changed as new women have entered the ranks and others have fallen off.https://trib.al/Ajygp0V

Not undermining achievements in any way here.People, don’t mix up wealth and richness. Most often they are not the same. And the diversity of the English language can often be easy to manipulate.

In August 2020, as the novel coronavirus was blazing across an unvaccinated United States, Don Ahern’s Las Vegas hotel hosted the event Evangelicals For Trump, despite previously being scolded by state authorities for staging a beauty pageant. Nevada fined Ahern $10,930 for violating the governor’s executive orders banning mass gatherings.Undeterred, Ahern hosted a Trump campaign rally the next month at a warehouse he owns in the nearby city of Henderson; the city’s officials promptly fined Ahern $3,000. “I believe that it is my patriotic duty to do what is right for our country, and what is right is supporting President Donald J. Trump,” a bespectacled, mild-mannered Ahern explained at a press conference after the rally.Few outside Nevada and the construction industry have heard of Don Ahern, who made his estimated $1 billion fortune renting out construction equipment like telehandlers and forklifts. Ahern, who is apparently “shy,” according to his longtime consultant George Harris, didn’t comment on his net worth or sit for an interview for this story. But Ahern’s embrace of MAGA politics and influence in a key swing state has raised his national profile.Keep reading: https://trib.al/AdtSgKS

Since performing in her last movie, 2014’s Lost River, Eva Mendes has become a mother, fashion designer, children’s book author and the co-owner of a successful home cleaning goods startup, Skura Style. After taking an ownership stake in 2022, Mendes has helped Skura—which was founded in 2017 by Linda Sawyer and Alison Matz—expand its marketing reach and has even dabbled in product design. Forbes estimates the business brought in $7 million in revenue last year and is on track for $20 million in 2024.“I started using it and I loved it, so I got in contact with the founders and I loved their story,” she says. Much like Mendes, Sawyer and Matz left behind thriving careers—Sawyer was the longtime North America CEO of Deutsch Advertising, while Matz was the publisher of magazines at Meredith and Condé Nast, including Brides—to become entrepreneurs. With her new ownership role, Mendes has become interested in every aspect of the company. “I want to be on those investor calls, I want to talk about the boring stuff, like how high our box has to be in order to fit into a certain shelf. I’m in for all of it.”Keep reading: https://trib.al/ppCHUgi

A majority of Americans don’t think going into debt for a four-year college degree is worth it, according to a new study from Pew Research Center. Only 22% of 5,200 survey respondents said that college is worth the cost if a student has to take on debt, while another 47% said a four-year degree is worth it only if the student doesn’t have to take out loans. That leaves 29% of respondents who say college isn’t worth its cost, regardless. Even a majority of college graduates themselves are skeptical of the value of a degree today—only a third say college is worth the cost if loans are required.
