Is there any reason to use a dagger in BG3? ›

It comes down to the effects weapons have, but very few daggers in BG3 offer any substantial enchantment that makes them better than some of the good Shortswords or larger one-handed weapons like Rapiers. Daggers are really only good for throwing honestly, if you build around that sort of thing.
